The title of this piece is the title of a hymn in the hymnal we use on Sunday mornings, but it’s a touch more literal as I type this.
This morning, I was looking over some of the material for our combined Ash Wednesday Service (coming up on February 18th) and the Scripture sang out to me. Not sure if it happens to you, but for me often I will read a line of Scripture only to immediately hear a song ringing in my ears. That was the case today. The recommended Psalm for Ash Wednesday is Psalm 103. I read the first six words and boom; I was singing along with Matt Redman. It’s an oldie but a goodie if I were to put my DJ hat back on for a minute and I thought I would share it with you. Give this song a listen and then read Psalm 103 or vice versa. Feel the mixture of solemness we have during Lent and then the hope we have in Christ Jesus, the salty and the sweet if you will.
God bless you all.
