I am at that age where I start repeating myself and today will probably be no different.  This time of year I am always pondering the fact that without a Good Friday service, we go from the "hooray!" of Palm Sunday right to the "HOORAY!" of Easter.  That grieves me a little each year about this time.

Instead of listening to Christmas carols, I'm sitting here listening to Lenten hymns and the songs of Good Friday.  Oddly, one of my favorite hymns is among them, "Go to Dark Gethsemane."  In my search of a suitable version of that hymn, I came across the video I am sharing below.  I couldn't help but be moved by the simple single pipe intro given to the hymn.  It is, if you think about the situation, almost like taps being played at a funeral.

I invite you to not necessarily watch this video, but to listen.  Hear the lamenting tone of the song and of the organ during the intro.  Feel the heaviness of the moment and the sacrifice that is ahead for our Redeemer.  Spend time with me at Gethsemane so that we can feel even more strongly, the power of the empty tomb on Easter.
