Timberville Church of the Brethren Leadership
Timberville Church of the Brethren is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Karl Magenhofer
Pastor
Pastor Karl was appointed to serve as Timberville Church of the Brethren's Pastor in August 0f 2022. Prior to that, he served the Montezuma congregation and as pulpit supply throughout the Shenandoah District.
Pastor Karl's faith journey began at an early age growing up and being Baptized Lutheran at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Baltimore, Md. He also regularly attended his great-aunt's Methodist church and went with his paternal Grandfather to Lakeland Presbyterian in Baltimore where he and his wife would be married years later. On rare occasion Karl was able to see his maternal Grandfather in action as an Episcopal Priest serving parishes in North Carolina and Maryland.
The ministry is a second career for Pastor Karl, who spent more than 20 years in radio mostly at WSVA in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He also spent a year at WNAV in Annapolis, Maryland where in addition to news he was able to broadcast minor league baseball.
His calling into the ministry came later in life and truly took flight after his family found a church home at Timberville CoB. Former Pastor Bernie Fuska was instrumental in fostering Karl's call and supporting him in numerous ways eventually leading to the licensed ministry through the Church of the Brethren.
Karl was excited to have the opportunity to pastor at Timberville where he and his family first experienced the Church of the Brethren as a denomination. He is blessed to be part of a congregation that is engaged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ.
Pastor Karl has been happily married for 15 years to his wife, Angie. They have three children: Brooklyn, Cardie and Adrian.
Autumn Foster
Administrative Assistant
Autumn has been what many refer to as the "Church Secretary" since just before Pastor Karl arrived, providing some stability in the office as the handoff was made between former Pastor Bernie Fuska and Pastor Karl.
Autumn's "day job" is with James Madison University where she assists with state Procurement and Capital Projects. Here at Timberville CoB not only does she wrangle Pastor Karl, but also ensures the bulletins are printed each week and puts together the quarterly newsletter.
Autumn is a lifelong member of Timberville Church of the Brethren. She and her husband Eston live just outside Timberville with their son Hart.
